Colorado fans were rooting for another local team to win a different trophy this time last year. The watch parties at Ball Arena and around town were packed houses with Avalanche fans cheering on the boys in burgundy and blue to win the Stanley Cup. And they did.

Now, fans are cheering on the Avs roommates at Ball Arena in the NBA Finals. It’s the Nuggets’ first appearance at a shot for the title. And some Avalanche players stopped by their home during the Nuggets’ playoff run.

A few players wished the team the best of luck in their Finals series on Twitter.

Cale Makar and Devon Toews were spotted at Game 5 of the NBA semifinals on May 9 against the Phoenix Suns.

Avs superstar Nathan MacKinnon was given the ball before Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals and missed the net on the shot. So Avs fans can rest easy that he's sticking to hockey. And he doesn't miss many of those shots.

MacKinnon was at the win against the Los Angeles Lakers with teammate Andrew Cogliano.

Avalanche players usually take off pretty quickly after the offseason begins. While Denver is home for at least seven months of the year, the team doesn’t necessarily stick around the Mile High City. And since they had a shortened offseason last year, they’re all most likely getting much-needed rest after a long, injury-plagued season.

But, as some of the Avs have shown support in the past, it’s a wonder if those that are still in town will be at the Finals games or if some may come back to root for their roomies as they try to win their first-ever NBA title.
