
Colorado's top defenseman and undoubtedly one of the best in the league, Cale Makar, hit another milestone in the 6-3 victory over the Dallas Stars.

The Colorado Avalanche scored six unanswered goals in the 6-3 win against the Dallas Stars Saturday night and Cale Makar assisted on three to become the fastest defenseman in NHL history to reach 200 assists.
Stars forwards Tyler Seguin and Joe Pavelski wristed two past Alexandar Georgiev in the first period.
Seguin netted a second goal less than two minutes into the middle frame before the Avalanche kicked their game into high gear.
While head coach Jared Bednar thought the first period was fairly neutral, the scoresheet didn't reflect that. He admitted his team made some mistakes which led to the Stars' goals.
"The message to our team was we got to make something happen and keep playing," Bednar said after the win.
Third-line winger Miles Wood slid one past Jamie Oettinger's five-hole on a breakaway to start off the Avs' comeback. Ryan Johansen tipped a second one in with less than three minutes remaining in the period.
"We got a job to do, all of us as individuals and as a team to play the right way and then individuals do things that they do and when we're all on the same page and collectively doing those things it can lead to that stuff," Johansen told Guerilla Sports reporter Jesse Montano. "So that's why I'm proud of the group today and the way we just stuck with it cause that can happen."
Valeri Nichushkin tied it up at 4:19 into the third and Mikko Rantanen netted the game winner at 14:32. Andrew Cogliano added another 11 seconds later and Ross Colton ended the game with an empty-netter.
Makar assisted on the first, second and last goals in the three-goal comeback victory. It was the the sixth time the Avalanche won after being down three goals in regulation in the team's history. According to the NHL, the last time the Avs achieved this kind of comeback win on the road was Jan. 21, 2004 against the Florida Panthers.
"We had no quit, we stayed together today, and that's a big win," the 25-year-old Norris Trophy-winner said after the game. "We definitely stayed committed. Even when things weren't going our way, felt like we were still doing the right things and just continued to play our game."
The elite defenseman hit 200 assists in just 254 games beating out Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes who took 263 games to do so.
