Colorado was shut out 7-0 by the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday afternoon and is looking for a much-needed bounce-back win against the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday afternoon. During the first two periods of their matchup against Vegas, they were well on track to doing that. They had a 3-0 lead heading into the third, but then, the Golden Knights tied it up in regulation and stole the game in overtime. Blowing a 3-0 lead and allowing four unanswered goals certainly was not what Avalanche goaltender Alexandar Georgiev hoped. He needed a bounce-back game after he gave up four goals on 15 shots against the Jets before being pulled. However, his ongoing struggles caught up with him again versus Vegas. With that, over his time 10 appearances, he has just a .875 SV%. It has simply been a very rough stretch for the All-Star. With the playoffs just about here, the Avalanche desperately need Georgiev to bounce back and be on his A-game. When playing at his best, he is a quality starter. However, if these struggles carry over the playoffs, the Avs may run into some serious trouble against a tough team like the Jets.
