He has also found himself reunited with an old teammate of his in Jonathan Drouin. Drouin and MacKinnon played together for the Halifax Mooseheads. Although they were drafted in the same year (2013), their careers have followed wildly different trajectories. That's all in the past, as the two are finding chemistry again. He's been effective on the power play, gathering seven points playing on the first unit with MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen and Valeri Nichushkin. That's a far cry from his career high of 26, but it's a step in the right direction given how much of a let down his last few seasons in Montreal were. With six points in his last five games, it's tough to imagine a scenario where Jared Bednar decides to break them up. Until then, I'd expect both players to continue producing how they presently are.
