The Blue Jackets are not in a “ win now” position, so trading for any of the Ranger’ aging stars makes no sense. They just need to be patient and pick up as many good UFAs as they can get and replace the waiver wire players they were forced to pickup this year out of desperation. Their strategy this year appears to be to wait out the year unless a truly good opportunity appears to pick up a player who will help immediately.
