After a ton of injuries that derailed his career, Sean Monahan has found his game again with the Blue Jackets.

When the Columbus Blue Jackets signed Sean Monahan this off-season, he was excited to be joining his best friend Johnny Gaudreau.
Sadly, Johnny and his brother Matthew Gaudreau passed away just before the start of the NHL season. There is no question that it made things extremely difficult for the Blue Jackets. More specifically, Monahan, who had lost his best friend.
Every NHL fan would completely understand if Monahan had a terrible year given the circumstances. However, that is not what happened. He has overcome so many obstacles, including a ton of injuries that derailed his career. Monahan has found his game again with the Blue Jackets.
Last night against the Tampa Bay Lightning was the icing on the cake for Monahan, who had an unbelievable night with four points in a come-from-behind 7-6 win in overtime.
Monahan had this to say about the game.
"A lot of guys stepped up and had big nights here for us."
Aside from himself, Zach Werenski had a career-high five-point night, which was capped off with the OT winner for the Blue Jackets.
Monahan is on pace to have his best season since the 2018-19 season when he was with the Calgary Flames. In 19 games so far, he has seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points.
If he can keep at this pace, he is projected to end the season with 82 points, which would tie a new career high for him.
Monahan is an inspiration to so many NHL fans and players; he has had to overcome so much during his NHL career.
But now he is back and showing why the Blue Jackets spent $27.5 million on him this past off-season.
