The 30-year-old Simpson spent his entire career in the AHL

Former Cleveland Monster Dillion Simpson has reportedly retired.

The defenseman played 256 games for the Monsters in five seasons. He scored 25 goals and totaled 75 points. The Edmonton native also wore the C for Cleveland the last two seasons.

Simpson was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in 2011 in round 4. He only played in three career games for the Oilers, all during the 16-17 season, and he failed to gain any points.

He will be headed to his alma mater to be an assistant coach.
