The young defenseman will get his first try at pro hockey in North America

Former 4th round pick of the Blue Jackets Eric Hjorth has been signed by The Trois-Rivieres Lions of the ECHL, an affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens.

The 22-year-old Hjorth will be playing in North America for the first time since the 19-20 season when he played for the Sarnia Sting of the OHL. In 60 games for Sarnia, he scored 12 goals and had 29 points. The young defenseman has played in Finland and Sweden the last four years.

Hjorth never signed an NHL contract in his short career, but maybe he can catch on after coming back to North America. Best of luck to him.
