Elliotte Friedman is reporting that the Blue Jackets and Devils are working on a sign and trade for the 28 year old defenseman, Damon Severson.

The contract is to be an 8 year deal at $6.25 million per year. According Frank Seravalli, the CBJ are sending a 2023 3rd round pick in exchange for facilitating the sign and trade. 

The CBJ have traded for Ivan Provorov and Damon Severson in the last few days, vastly improving the defense. A point of pain for the Jackets the last few years. All of the sudden, the blue line looks good. And with all the prospects they have on D, Jarmo is swinging for the fences no doubt.
