The Team Summer Camp rosters are packed with future Talent
A pair of 2023 Columbus draft picks will take part in the U.S. World Junior Summer Showcase Camp. USA Hockey has revealed split-squad rosters for the Summer Showcase which is an evaluation event for the 2024 World Junior Championship.
Gavin Brindley, the 34th overall pick out of Estero, FLA, and currently playing for the University of Michigan, was on the 2023 WC Junior roster. Brindley has a bit of international experience. The Michigan sophomore won a bronze medal for the U.S. during the 2023 IIHF World juniors, a silver medal in the 2022 IIHF U-18 Men’s Worlds and finished 2nd in the 2020 Youth Olympic Games in Switzerland. In 17 games played for Team USA, he has 3 goals and 10 points. Brindley will represent Team Blue.
William Whitelaw, the 66th overall pick out of Rosemount, MN, played last season for the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL. He has committed to playing for the University of Wisconsin for the upcoming season. Whitelaw played in 71 games for Youngstown scoring 38 goals and 64 points. Whitelaw also has a little bit of international experience. In 2021 he played in the U-17 Five Nations Tournament, where they would finish in 1st place. In 2022 he played in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Red Deer, Alberta, where the team would finish 5th place. In eight Team USA games, Whitelaw has 10 goals and 15 points. Whitelaw will represent Team White.
