The Columbus Blue Jackets [https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/columbus-blue-jackets] have a problem right now. That problem? They have a couple young prospects who are still at camp who aren't waivers exempt. Forward Luca Del Bel Belluz and defenseman Corson Ceulemans are still in camp with the CBJ. The thought was that LDBB would probably make the team out of camp with Isac Lundestrom hurt. But would Danton Heinen take that spot away from him? Heinen is on a two-way deal but has looked pretty good. Don Waddell has to ask himself who he'd rather lose. Del Bel Belluz or Heinen? It's an easy answer for me. Heinen would most likely clear waivers to get to Cleveland. But LDBB, on the other hand, I'm not so sure. And there's Corson Ceulemans. The former Wisconsin standout and 25th overall pick in 2021 just hasn't had his chance yet. It was bad timing, honestly. With former GM Jarmo Kekäläinen trading for Ivan Provorov and Damon Severson a few years ago, that really stunted Corson Ceulemans. It's probably time for him to start playing NHL minutes. And now here we are: Corson Ceulemans will need waivers to get to Cleveland. Chances are he would never make it. Some team would most likely jump all over picking up a young defenseman with an NHL body. Which scenario would Don Waddell rather have? Sign Carson Soucy and take a chance on letting Ceulemans get claimed? Or let Ceulemans get the spot over Soucy? There is one more option. Put Jake Christiansen on waivers and give the spot to Ceulemans. Christiansen has had a chance and couldn't seem to grab it. Maybe it's time to let Ceulemans get that chance? What do you think?
