Canada did manage to crawl back and tie the game. However, a late third period penalty against cost them the game and they lost 4-3. Columbus Blue Jackets' prospect Luca Pinelli played very well in the elimination game. He was involved in the team's game tying goal by Parker Martone. Pinelli ended the tournament with a goal and an assist for two points five games. As for Team Canada, they were bounced from the quarterfinals for the second consecutive year, marking the first time that has happened in the tournament's history.
