The Texas Stars announced on Tuesday that, for the fourth straight season, captain Curtis McKenzie has been named the team’s IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the community both on and off the ice.

Texas Stars captain Curtis McKenzie continues to set the standard in Cedar Park, earning the honour once again for his long-standing commitment to community work. From his involvement with “Captain’s Kids” initiatives to his efforts supporting flood relief, McKenzie has consistently been one of the organization’s most active and impactful community leaders.

McKenzie, a 35-year-old veteran from Golden, British Columbia, has spent the majority of his professional career in the American Hockey League, while also seeing NHL action with the Dallas Stars. Over his time in Texas, he has become one of the most important players in franchise history, recording 164 goals and 234 assists for 398 points across 565 games with the club.

This season, McKenzie has added 26 points in 70 games, continuing to provide steady leadership and veteran presence both in the locker room and on the ice. His impact, however, extends far beyond the scoresheet, as his repeated recognition reflects his role as a cornerstone of the Texas Stars community identity.
