On this day in 2007, the Dallas Stars got a clutch playoff performance from Marty Turco, who stopped all 21 shots he faced in a 2–0 win over the Vancouver Canucks in Game 6 of the Western Conference quarterfinals.

It was Turco’s third shutout of the series, a dominant stretch that helped Dallas close things out. Goals from Mike Modano and Jeff Halpern provided the offense in a tightly controlled game.

That 2006–07 Stars team finished the regular season with a 50–25–7 record, topping the Pacific Division. They were known for strong defensive structure under coach Dave Tippett and elite goaltending from Turco, who posted a 2.23 goals-against average and 0.910 save percentage during the season.

Despite the strong first-round showing, Dallas was eliminated in the next round by the Vancouver Canucks’s division rival, the Anaheim Ducks, who would go on to win the Stanley Cup.
