On this day back in 2007, the Dallas Stars stayed alive with a 1-0 overtime win against the Vancouver Canucks in Game 5 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.

Stars captain Brenden Morrow scored the overtime winner six minutes into the extra frame with goaltender Marty Turco helping carry the load with a 21-save shutout.

The 2006-07 Stars were built on structure and defense as they finished the regular season with a 50-25-7 record for 107 points and allowed just 193 goals, the third fewest in the NHL that year.

They were a tough team to score on under head coach Dave Tippett, the team relied on a veteran core that included Morrow, Sergei Zubov, and Mike Ribeiro, with Turco anchoring the crease.
