Forward Ty Dellandrea has every reason to be pumped about the 2023-24 season.

He recently spoke with NHLPA.com writer Chris Lomon to discuss his expectations moving forward.

“You always want to do more. That’s the mindset I have every shift I take,” explained Dellandrea, in the story published by Lomon on August 24. “I also want to build on what I was able to do last year and help the team go farther this season.”

Speaking of last year, Dellandrea’s first full NHL campaign was most definitely a success.

He registered nine goals and 28 points in 82 regular season games, before adding three goals in 15 playoff appearances to help the Stars reach the Western Conference Final.

The 23-year-old Port Perry, ON native is adamant about taking his game to the next level this fall… and beyond.

“You have to put the work in, and you can’t take your foot off the pedal,” Dellandrea told Lomon. “I was happy about a lot of things last year, but I want to keep improving and working on my game.”

Fortunately, he’ll have that opportunity soon enough.

Dellandrea is hungry to lace up his skates again in Texas.

“Especially over the last few weeks when you’re ramping everything up, getting on the ice more and seeing how everyone in the gym is excited to get things started. You can see that high energy. We have a good group,” Dellandrea told Lomon. “Going on a deep run, but not getting what you wanted, I think everyone is excited, wants to get back at it and get working again. You wish you could fast-forward and start the season right now.”

Dellandrea, who was selected 13th overall in 2018, signed a one-year contract with Dallas on July 13.
