DALLAS - The Stars (5-1-1) defeated the Blue Jackets 5-3 at the American Airlines Center on Monday night.

Thomas Harley, Roope Hintz, Matt Duchene, Evgenii Dadonov and Wyatt Johnston scored for Dallas, while goaltender Jake Oettinger made 22 saves to improve his record to 4-0-1 on the year.

Duchene's first goal of the season was also his first with the organization.

Just under a minute later, Oettinger made a highlight-reel save on Columbus captain Boone Jenner that kept Dallas in front.

The 24-year-old netminder flashed the leather to deny a prime scoring opportunity.

Harley's tally, meanwhile, came just 27 seconds into the opening frame.

He buried a tape-to-tape feed from Jason Robertson for his second goal of the campaign to get the crowd going early.

For his part, Hintz added a perfect tip-in snipe.

Dadonov's goal was a rocket upstairs on goaltender Elvis Merzlikins.

Johnston capped the scoring for the home team with an empty-netter.

The Stars embark on three-game road trip to Western Canada on Tuesday with stops in Calgary (Nov. 1), Edmonton (Nov. 2) and Vancouver (Nov. 4).
