Youngster Wyatt Johnston is "probable" to play tonight, said head coach Pete DeBoer.

DALLAS - The Stars held an optional skate at Honda Center on Thursday morning ahead of their game against the Ducks. Puck drop is 9:00 p.m. CT.

Head coach Peter DeBoer confirmed that goaltender Jake Oettinger will make his third consecutive start.

Oettinger has a 1-0-1 record, along with a 1.38 goals-against average and a .948 save percentage through two games.

Forward Wyatt Johnston is "probable" for the contest, according to DeBoer.

The Stars bench boss indicated that there could be a few "game-time decisions" so newcomer Sam Steel might be back in the lineup to face his former team.

Steel, who didn't face the Golden Knights, played 197 games over four seasons with the Ducks between 2018 and 2022.

"I'd like to get him in. We'll see what the lineup looks like when we get back tonight," said DeBoer. "I think Sam deserves to get in a game, too. He had a good camp. There are some tough decisions in our lineup if everyone's healthy."

Dallas is looking to rebound from Tuesday night's 3-2 shootout loss to the Golden Knights in Las Vegas.
