Former Dallas Stars defenseman Jordie Benn will play for Team Canada at the 2023 Spengler Cup.

Jordie Benn, the brother of current Stars forward Jamie Benn, will suit up for Canada, where they look to win this year's Spengler Cup. This is the 100th anniversary of the tournament, where they will take on HC Dynamo Pardubice (Czechia), KalPa (Finland), Frolunda HC (Sweden), HC Ambri-Piotta and the hosts, HC Davos.

Benn has been playing with Brynäs IF in Sweden. Benn has put up two goals and six assists this season in 17 games. Benn played 607 NHL games, 302 with the Dallas Stars. Benn had signed a PTO with the Stars in training camp but was released after the preseason.

Benn spent last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs. It was a tough season for Benn as he was put on the LTIR with a groin injury and then on the IR later with an upper-body injury. Benn played 12 NHL games and 23 games with the Toronto Marlies in the AHL.
