DALLAS - Head coach Pete DeBoer confirmed on Monday that goaltender Scott Wedgewood will face the Rangers (12-2-1) tonight at the American Airlines Center.

It marks Wedgwood's first start since November 11 against the Jets in Winnipeg when he picked up his third win of the season with a 31-save performance.

With Wedgewood between the pipes, Jake Oettinger gets another important break.

"We’re playing both guys. Both guys have played well. I’d like to get [Scott] in once a week, but we’ve talked about this since Day 1 of camp that we’re going to make sure that we look at the big picture with both guys," explained DeBoer.

The Stars are looking to rebound after surrendering a 3-0 lead over the weekend to the Avalanche on home ice, before suffering a 6-3 defeat.

It was a disappointing performance, to say the least.

"We want to be a 60-minute team. I think the message to our group was, ‘When you play elite teams, Colorado, the Rangers tonight, Vegas on Wednesday, you’re not going to get away with playing 40 of 60 minutes, or a slow start, or undisciplined play.’ Elite teams, they make you pay for those kinds of errors and those kinds of mistakes," insisted DeBoer.

The veteran bench boss is hopeful that his group can right the ship with a complete effort from start to finish.

The Rangers are currently riding a four-game winning streak and boast a 9-0-1 record in their last 10 games.

"What happened to us last game will happen to every team in the League at some point. Everybody stumbles in this League. That’s just what happens. It’s your response to that. It’s always about your response," emphasized DeBoer. "We looked at it. We know what we did wrong. The silver lining is that I thought we were the better team for the first two periods, or most of the first two periods, so we’ve got to build on the good stuff and fix the stuff that went wrong in the third."

Puck drop is 7:00 p.m. CT.
