It was almost a perfect trek through Western Canada.

DALLAS - The Stars' (7-2-1) winning streak was snapped at three games on Saturday night with a 2-0 loss to the Canucks (8-2-1) at Rogers Arena.
Dallas finished its three-game road trip through Western Canada with four out of a possible six points.
Goaltender Thatcher Demko madę 27 saves to earn the shutout for Vancouver behind second-period goals from Pius Suter and Elias Pettersson.
"It was a good hockey game. There wasn’t a lot of room out there. We had a couple of opportunities to maybe get the first goal, which I think would’ve been critical tonight. They got it. I think it was one of those nights where whoever gets that first goal, it’s a big advantage because it looked right from the start like neither goalie was going to give up a whole lot," said head coach Pete DeBoer. "They got the first goal and they really grabbed momentum in the second period. We pushed hard down the stretch. You’ve got to give them credit, they played hard."

The Stars were in prime position to open the scoring when youngster Wyatt Johnston had a point-blank opportunity just five-and-a-half minutes into the opening frame, but Demko made a spectacular glove stop to deny the snipe.
That proved to be a critical save.
"That’s the first goal, right? Usually that’s in the back of the net and potentially maybe we grab some momentum from there and it’s a different hockey game," said DeBoer. "We didn’t, and he made the save and they got the first one."
While the Stars failed to generate any goals, their penalty kill was especially good once again as Vancouver went 0-for-5 on the power play.
DeBoer's contingent leads the League with a 94.4% success rate while down a man.
Goaltender Jake Oettinger made 26 saves in the loss.
The Stars are back in action on Monday night when they host the Bruins at the American Airlines Center. Puck drop is 7:00 p.m. CT.
