Since being thrust into game action during the Red Wings trip to Sweden, Alex Lyon has bordered on sensational in the Detroit crease.

Even with a sub-standard 21 save on 25 shot performance against the Ottawa Senators Saturday, Lyon can claim a .931 save percentage and 2.13 goals against average for the season.

Meanwhile, Ville Husso returned from his paternity leave in sharp form, stopping 25 of 27 shots against the Bruins, then 38 of 41 against the Rangers in his first two starts back.  However, Husso has since slipped to giving up four goals on 30 shots in Montreal and six goals on 36 shots against the Sharks last week.  He now has a .886 save percentage and 3.65 goals against average for the season.

James Reimer made just 29 saves on 34 shots in his first start since Detroit's trip to Sweden last night in Dallas.

With all that in mind, at what point does Lyon deserve to assume the (pardon the pun) lion's share of the starts in net for Derek Lalonde?

My co-host Connor Earegood and I took on this question on the most recent episode of The Silky Mitten State, THN Detroit's hockey podcast about Michigan.  You can find an excerpt of that discussion here:
