For a team that swore up and down that they wanted to change the narrative of March, the Detroit Red Wings have been mostly delivering results that are all too familiar.
Saturday evening's loss to the Philadelphia Flyers was not only their third straight on home ice, but also the second straight in which they fell behind 3-0.
Afterward, Alex DeBrincat pulled no punches when describing his team's effort level as the Flyers eventually went up by four goals.
"We just didn't have that jump," he said. "Unacceptable by us to play like that in the first couple of periods, we have to be way better."
It's on the Red Wings to show that they can still author a better ending than the fate that has befallen them in recent years.
