Former Detroit Red Wings forward Anthony Mantha, who scored a career-high 33 goals this season with the Pittsburgh Penguins while on a one-year, $2.5 million contract, isn't expected to return to the Penguins next season.

He's projected to at least double his salary from this season and is reportedly seeking at least $5-6 million per season after his impressive output in 2025-26.

The Red Wings dealt him away in April 2021 to the Washington Capitals for Jakub Vrana and Richard Panik, along with a 2021 first-round pick, and a 2022 second-round pick.
