The Red Wings hired Bowman in 1993, and it wouldn't be long before they became the modern version of an NHL dynasty at the time.

It was also in December 1995 that Bowman made NHL history. With Detroit's 3-1 win over the New Jersey Devils on Dec. 15, Bowman became the first coach in NHL history to win 100 games with four different teams (St. Louis Blues, Montreal Canadiens, Buffalo Sabres, Red Wings).

Bowman retired from coaching in 2002 after leading the Red Wings to their third Stanley Cup win in six seasons.
