Detroit Red Wings team captain Dylan Larkin will soon return to the club after a quick trip to Washington D.C. to celebrate Team USA's gold medal victory.

The Red Wings will resume their regular season schedule on Thursday against the Ottawa Senators, who are captained by Brady Tkachuk, Larkin's Team USA's Olympic teammate. 

Right now, the Red Wings are in a far more advantageous position than the Senators, who broke their lengthy playoff drought last season but would miss right now if the postseason began today. 

It will be back to work for the Red Wings, who hope to break their own lengthy playoff drought.
