December 2, 1995 was an important anniversary in the history of the Detroit Red Wings thanks to their 11-1 drubbing of the Montreal Canadiens at the historic Montreal Forum.
It was marked by the Red Wings scoring a whopping nine goals on goaltender Patrick Roy, who felt that head coach Mario Tromblay left him in net purposefully to embarrass him.

When he was mercifully pulled after Detroit's ninth goal, Roy infamously leaned over to Canadiens team president Ronald Corey, who was seated directly behidn the bench, and said that he would never play for Montreal again.
Days later, Roy was traded to the Colorado Avalanche, and would go on to be one of the central figures in the heated rivalry between the Red Wings and Avalanche.
