While Team USA captured their first gold medal since the historic "Miracle on Ice" squad of 1980 earlier this month, today is a special anniversary for Team Canada.

It was on this day 16 years ago in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics that Canada, who were coached by Detroit Red Wings coach Mike Babcock and managed by Steve Yzerman, won the gold medal over Team USA.

Red Wings nemesis Sidney Crosby tallied the historic game-winning goal, known as the original "golden goal", past former Michigan State Spartans goaltender Ryan Miller shortly into overtime.

Current Red Wings forward Patrick Kane assisted on the dramatic game-tying goal late in regulation, while former Red Wings defenseman Brian Rafalski logged some of the heaviest minutes for Team USA.
