Following another hot start to the season, the power-play for the Detroit Red Wings became less effective, and entering Friday evening's contest against the Buffalo Sabres, it ranked near the middle of the pack in the NHL at No. 14 overall.

However, Detroit got off to exactly the kind of start they wanted to when they were given a pair of chances with the man-advantage.

Power-play goals from both Alex DeBrincat and Lucas Raymond help pace Detroit to an eventual 5-2 victory over the Sabres, putting them back to within a point of the final Wild Card playoff position in the Eastern Conference.

This is the kind of performance that the Red Wings will need with opposition players in the penalty box.
