Fans of the Detroit Red Wings were shocked on Thursday when reports leaked from NHL Insider Elliotte Freidman that captain Dylan larkin had requested a trade. 

Larkin, who has played his entire NHL career with the Red Wings, has only played in five total playoff games, and those came during his rookie season of 2015-16. 

However, Detroit's inability to get over the hump over the last decade, especially in the last three seasons, has apparently become too much for Larkin to handle.
