Detroit Red Wings forward Dominik Shine was called up to the NHL from the Grand Rapids Griffins, where he had played a major role not only as team captain but in their record-breaking season.

Not only did Shine pick up a major career milestone earlier this month by scoring his first NHL goal, but he's also celebrating an even more special milestone in his personal life, as he and his wife have welcomed a daughter into the world.
