It was a tense scene for Detroit Red Wings team captain Dylan Larkin on Saturday evening against the Seattle Kraken, as he was struck in the face with a deflected shot near the end of the second period.
While Larkin immediately went to the dressing room for repairs, he would eventually emerge for the third period while wearing a partial facial shield covering his jaw.
As noted by FanDuel Sports Detroit commentator Ken Daniels, Larkin admitted to him that he had never required stitches for an injury during his 11-season NHL career.
