    On Friday, the Detroit Red Wings signed free agent right defenseman Travis Hamonic to a one-year deal. And - although Hamonic isn't a top-of-the-line solution for the Red Wings to address some offensive deficiencies on their blue line - it does complicate matters for any potential Erik Karlsson trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
