Acquired in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Petr Mrazek, who was in the midst of his second tenure with the Red Wings, Detroit feels they now have a bonafide starting goaltender who could potentially play upwards of 50 games.

The only obstacle in the way of that goal would be Gibson's ability to stay healthy. Over the past several seasons, he's been limited by various injuries.
He played in 56 and 53 games in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 campaigns, but was limited to 46 and 29 games the following two seasons.
Can Gibson remain healthy enough to start at least 50 games in what will be his first season with the Red Wings?
