Popularly known as "313" Day in the Motor City, Detroiters like to commemorate all things Detroit on the day of the year that reflects the iconic area code.
The most recent, and likely last, player to wear No. 13 for the Detroit Red Wings was Pavel Datsyuk, who arrived in Detroit as a mild-mannered and quiet rookie who barely spoke English in 2001.
He carved out a Hall of Fame career, winning the Stanley Cup twice, earning numerous other accolades, and becoming known not only as one of the flashiest players in NHL history but also as one of the best defensive forwards fans had ever seen.
Don't be surprised to see Datsyuk, who was recently elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame, have his No. 13 jersey number retired and hung from the rafters at Little Caesars Arena.
