Following their first round series victory over the Calgary Flames, the Detroit Red Wings advanced to the 2007 Western Conference Semifinal against the San Jose Sharks, their first postseason matchup since 1994.

The Sharks managed to earn a 2-0 shutout win in Game 1 and took a quick 2-0 first period lead in Game 2, only to have the Red Wings storm back to tie the score by the early point of the third period.

With time ticking away in regulation, Pavel Datsyuk seized the opportunity to give Detroit the upper hand:

While San Jose won Game 3, Detroit would then complete the series comeback with three straight victories, including a thrilling OT win in Game 4.
