It was exactly two years ago (and one day) that Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Kane, who won the Stanley Cup three times as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, returned to United Center for the first time in opposition colors.
Even more fittingly, he scored the overtime game-winning goal, on an assist from another former Blackhawks forward in Alex DeBrincat.
Since then, Kane has twice re-signed with the Red Wings, and not only scored his 500th career NHL goal but also has become the highest-scoring U.S.born player in NHL history.
