Connor Earegood and Sam Stockton debrief an up then down week of Red Wings hockey before weighing in on some college hockey happenings around the state in Episode 3 of The Silky Mitten State
My co-host Connor Earegood and I talk through the mixed bag that was the last week of Detroit Red Wings hockey, then touch on a couple of college hockey topics from around the great state of Michigan.
We get started by reviewing a week that started with a bang in the form of a Saturday night win over Boston and ended with a whimper in an overtime loss to Montreal last night.
Then, we discuss our confidence in Detroit's goaltending, Robby Fabbri's role moving forward, and our thoughts on the back half of the Red Wings' defensive depth chart.
From there, it's on to a quick review of the early season results from Michigan Tech and Western Michigan (with much more optimism in the latter case than the former), before considering whether Michigan State's relative dominance against (to varying degrees) lesser competition or their sweep at the hands of Boston College is a better reflection of where the Spartans are. Then we wrap by weighing in on our level of concern about Michigan after some early season losses.
