The Detroit Red Wings released the schedule for 2023 Training Camp in Traverse City, along with the annual TC Prospect Tournament and Golf Classic
On Monday morning, the Detroit Red Wings announced the schedule for their 2023 Training Camp, which, per tradition will unfold in mid-September at Centre ICE Arena in Traverse City.
Before camp officially begins, Traverse City will host the NHL Prospect Tournament for the 24th time. This year, the event will feature the Red Wings, Columbus Blue Jackets, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Dallas Stars, and it will unfold between September 14th and 17th.
In the prospect tournament's history, 756 players have graduated on to play at least one NHL game, including numerous current Red Wings—Dylan Larkin, Lucas Raymond, and Moritz Seider among them. In fact, 20 of the 34 players to appear for Detroit a year ago featured in the tournament at least once, including several who did not participate as Red Wings (e.g. Ben Chiarot with the Atlanta Thrashers and Jake Walman with the St. Louis Blues).
Training Camp itself will run from Thursday, September 21st until Monday the 25th. On Sunday the 24th, the annual Red and White game will take place, including full-time Red Wings, prospects, and camp invitees. As of yet, Detroit has not released its full training camp roster.
Tickets for both the prospect tournament and camp are available on Centre ICE Arena's website.
In between the two events, the Red Wings will host the 2023 Training Camp Golf Classic at the Traverse City Country Club. The event will benefit the non-profit Involved Citizens Enterprises (I.C.E.), a charity that provides affordable skating programs for Grand Traverse area residents.
