Who Will Earn More: Raymond or Seider? Hockey season is upon us. The Detroit Red Wings released their training camp roster Wednesday, a day ahead of the start of camp. The roster includes 68 players in total, all competing for jobs with the NHL, AHL and ECHL teams within the Red Wings organization. One of those defensemen is current restricted free agent Moritz Seider, the team’s top defenseman who is still without a contract. Of negotiations, general manager Steve Yzerman said Tuesday that the two sides "continue to talk," before adding "I don't think we're terribly far apart.” The majority of the players on this roster are those the Red Wings have signed. Forwards Hunter Johannes, Carson Bantle, Dominik Shine and Gabriel Seger are all signed to AHL deals with Grand Rapids, and so is defenseman Josiah Didier and goaltender Jan Bednar. Other prospects attending training camp are forwards Carter Mazur, Marco Kasper and Nate Danielson, who have shown promise in the AHL and junior hockey and will push for consideration for the roster. Another name to know is forward Michael Brandsegg-Nygård, a Norwegian winger who the Red Wings drafted 15th overall at the 2024 NHL Draft.
