Connor McDavid sets the tone for the rest of his Edmonton Oilers teammates.
EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers look to get their 12th victory in a row against Pacific Division opponent, the Seattle Kraken. The Kraken are two points behind the Oilers and have played four more games.
Maturity and composure have been a constant refrain surrounding this team as they have gained ground in the standings since the middle of November. Leading the way for the Oilers in this department has been their captain Connor McDavid.
Kris Knoblauch has taken note of McDavid's commitment on and off the ice. No matter if it's practice or game play he's giving it his all whenever he skates, "every drill he does, it's full on 100%."
"I don't think I've ever seen him take a shift off."

That work ethic trickles down to the rest of the team - and the coach has noticed. "It's infectious the way he approaches the game. Whether it's preparation, what he does on the ice...his work ethic is infectious."
"Obviously guys aren't going to match his skill and what he does with the puck." Knoblauch knows that the rest of his team doesn't have the same skill as McDavid - but they step up to the plate and aim for his level of preparation.

Tonight that preparation will be put to the test against a team that wants to turn their current two-game losing streak into the beginning of their own winning streak.
