EDMONTON -- It's been quiet. Too quiet.
Edmonton Oilers fans didn't get treated to any more moves before the deadline on Friday afternoon. However, it hasn't been a quiet Trade Deadline.
Earlier in the week, the Oilers acquired Trent Frederic and Max Jones to increase the forward depth. At midnight on Friday, the Oilers made the Jake Walman acquisition official. These transactions bolster the team's depth and give the coaching staff several options.

EDMONTON -- They say you need toughness to win in the playoffs.
"After further consultation with team medical staff, it has been determined that forward Evander Kane will not be ready to return to action for the remainder of the 2024-25 season. As a result, he will remain on LTIR (long-term injured reserve)."
This move was expected, considering that the Oilers made moves into the LTIR space without any other corresponding trades.
Kane will now miss the entire 2024-25 season. He last played during the Stanley Cup Final against the Florida Panthers.
The power forward brings a unique skill set to the Oilers. However, only time will tell if he will be back to his old self when he eventually returns to game action.
