EDMONTON - It's a beautiful day for a trade in Edmonton.

The Oilers have made a three-way deal to bring in forwards Trent Frederic and Max Jones. Here is a breakdown of the three different trades that transpired.

    The First Trade

The Boston Bruins traded Frederic to the New Jersey Devils for an unsigned prospect, Petr Hauser. The Bruins retained 50 percent of Frederic's salary.

    The Second Trade

The Devils traded Frederic to the Oilers for unsigned prospect Shane LeChance. The Devils also retain 50 percent of Frederic's contract.

    The Final Trade

Finally, the Bruins traded Max Jones and the rights to Petr Hauser to the Oilers for Max Wanner, a 2025 2nd-round draft pick (St. Louis Blues), and the Oilers' 4th-round pick in 2026.

    Some Of The Numbers

Frederic is a big and tough bottom-six forward. The 27-year-old is 6-foot-3 and 221 lbs. In 57 games with the Bruins, he has recorded 15 points and four fights. He was second on the Bruins in hits with 155. He should provide great depth for the Oilers, especially at his reduced $575,000 cap hit after all of the retained salary.

Jones is another 27-year-old depth forward. The 6-foot-3, 216 lbs forward has only played seven games in the NHL this season, but he will bring more size and toughness to the lineup.

Hauser is a forward prospect currently playing in Czechia. The right winger has nine points in 16 games. He also brings some size, as he is also 6-foot-3. However, he is a little lighter, weighing 200 lbs.
