Anytime you are new in an organization or team, you want to put your best foot forward. Unfortunately for Edmonton Oilers forward Jeff Skinner, he hasn't made the best first impression.
Since that impression was made, he hasn't been able to shake himself out of the doghouse. Regardless of what is happening with Skinner, a new Oilers forward has made a great first impression.

On Thursday night, Corey Perry scored the first goal for the Oilers against the Montreal Canadiens. Recent acquisition Max Jones recorded the primary assist on the goal.
Jones is playing in his first game as an Oiler on Thursday night, his eighth of the season. That assist was his first point with the team and his first of the season.
The rugged forward has spent most of his season in the AHL. Jones has played 38 games with the Providence Bruins and has scored 13 goals, eight assists, and 21 points.
For Perry, his goal was his 14th tally of the season. With that goal, he has recorded 22 points, matching his point total from last year. He has averaged 11:31 per game this year, a drop from his 12:51 in games played for the Oilers last season.
Perry, Jones, and Kasperi Kapanen were put together in practice this morning and are the team's fourth line for Thursday night's game.
