
The Edmonton Oilers are signing Evan Bouchard to a two-year contract.
According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Edmonton Oilers are re-signing defenseman Evan Bouchard to a two-year, $7.8 million contract ($3.9 million AAV).

Bouchard, 23, had a strong regular 2022-23 season, posting eight goals, 40 points, and a plus-6 rating. Yet, he dominated during the playoffs, as he had four goals and 17 points in 12 games. His 17 postseason points led all NHL defensemen.

Bouchard is now looking to build off his excellent postseason for the Oilers in 2023-24. This upcoming campaign also has the potential to be a true breakout year for the 2018 first-round pick, He will have the chance to play with Mattias Ekholm for an entire season, and the two formed great chemistry after the deadline.
