Edmonton Oilers bring back Mattias Janmark on a one-year contract.
The Edmonton Oilers have re-signed bottom-six forward Mattias Janmark. His new deal will be for one-year and a $1-million cap hit. This further establishes what the Oilers lines will look like on opening night.
The Oilers are further solidifying their bottom-six depth with this signing. The 30-year-old forward recorded 25 points in 66 regular season games last year. Janmark brings great value with his penalty killing and forechecking prowess. For comparison, Kailer Yamamoto had 25 points in 2022-23, but with a $3.1-million cap hit.
With that contract signed the Oilers are left with $7.932-million in cap space. The Oilers need to get deals signed for Ryan McLeod and Evan Bouchard next.
