
Oilers' GM Ken Holland has done excellent work with re-signing these three players.
Ken Holland has come into the Edmonton Oilers organization and changed a lot of things. He has made several trades that have improved this team greatly in the time he's been in charge. While he doesn't get everything right, his misses are fewer than his hits.

One of his strengths has been his ability to re-sign players. It's important to retain good players when you have them, and these are three that have stuck around on incredible deals.
Contract: $2.6M for 3 years

Stuart Skinner was the starting goaltender for the Oilers this year. He earned that title after Jack Campbell had a shaky start and didn't seem to find his footing until the playoffs. Skinner's new extension kicks in this coming 2023-24 season.
Contract: $2.75M for 4 years.

Brett Kulak has come in and solidified the Oilers' third pairing. Kulak has the skill and skating to play higher up in the lineup when called upon. He was fantastic in the playoffs, making all the right decisions while playing with tremendous speed. He can play 2nd pairing minutes as a 3rd pair defender. Those depth pieces have incredible value in the playoffs.
Contract: $5.125M for 8 years.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is arguably the most versatile forward on the Oilers' roster. He can center his own line or play winger with Leon Draisaitl or Connor McDavid. He plays both power play and penalty kill. He just hit the 100 point mark for the first time in his career. He's going into the third year of his career where anything could happen.

These deals show that Holland can offer contracts that the players' and their representation are happy with, while also keeping them around the team longer. It's a win-win scenario for everyone.
