Here are the Oilers’ Core Players as Avengers

Oilers look to sign Ryan McLeod, Evan Bouchard and 4th line center.

There are definitely a few options for which Avengers the Edmonton Oilers' core players would be, but these are my picks based on resemblance (both physical and personality) and vibes.

Connor McDavid: Captain America

Captain America, well more like Captain Canada, right? This one is pretty self-explanatory. McDavid has been the captain and leader of the team for seven years now, and it seems like being the Oilers' captain is as natural to him as it is for Captain America to be Captain America.

Leon Draisaitl: Thor

Not only does Draisaitl kind of look like Thor with short hair but if you add the skills and wit to it — I could totally see Thor doing the whole “why are you so pissy” exchange — they could be different versions of the same person in different universes.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Doctor Strange

Nugent-Hopkins being the longest-tenured Oilers player arguably makes him the wise guy on the team, which is what Doctor Strange is for the Avengers.

Darnell Nurse: Falcon

Nurse's wholesome energy and chippiness resemble Falcon's a lot (that "on your left" comment by Falcon was iconic) so I thought this Avenger made the most sense.

Zach Hyman: Ant-Man

This one was tough. Hyman could be almost any of the Avengers but I thought that was ultimately the best pick because Hyman is likeable and writes children's books and Ant-Man is always finding ways to play with his daughter, so that was another similarity.

Evander Kane: Black Panther

Remember how seamless it was for Kane to join the Oilers? It was natural and just made sense, just like when Black Panther joined Team Iron Man.
