Edmonton Oilers have the second fewest goals scored against them all season. EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers lost to the Vegas Golden Knights last night. The final score was 3-1 with Connor McDavid scoring the only goal for the Oilers. With that loss, the Oilers win streak comes to an end with 16 consecutive wins, one shy of tying the NHL record. [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Gh8FZaAB9I[/embed] Even though that record was set in the 1992-92, the current version of the Pittsburgh Penguins were in action last night. Jesse Puljujarvi played his first NHL game this season, with the Penguins. The Penguins won 3-0 against the Winnipeg Jets. With the win the Penguins improved to 23-17-7. That's good for 53 points - five points behind the last Wild Card position in the Eastern Conference. Puljujarvi had a respectable game - zero points, two shots and two hits in 9:41 of ice time. Despite not getting any points he did have a direct impact on the Penguins first goal of the game. Puljujarvi made a simple dump in to get the puck into the zone. There was a turnover right away, but Kris Letang was there to scoop up the puck and backhand his fourth of the season into the back of the net. After the game there was a cool moment with Puljujarvi. First Sidney Crosby gives a game puck to the head coach Mike Sullivan for his 800th game coached. Sullivan then congratulates Jake Guentzel for his 500th NHL game - and immediately follows up with congratulating Puljujarvi on his first game. Lars Eller (who had the game helmet from the previous game) then stood up and gave Puljujarvi the game helmet for the team's win. This game helmet is handed out to whoever the players think the player of the game was (in the event of a win). Eller played the most with Puljujarvi, as they were on a line together for the game. The next time you can catch Puljujarvi and the Penguins is on Friday against the Minnesota Wild.
