Edmonton will be without Leon Draisaitl for the remainder of the regular season due to a lower body injury suffered when he was checked by Nashville's Ozzy Weisblatt on Sunday. Draisaitl concludes the season with 35 goals, 97 points and 186 shots on net in 65 appearances, falling just shy of the 100-point mark for the first time since the strike-shortened 2020-21 campaign. His absence leaves a massive hole in the middle and in general for the Oilers.

The Oilers (77 points) notched a huge win Tuesday, defeating the Shares 5-3 at home. That victory moved Edmonton seven points north of San Jose in the Pacific Division standings and six ahead of LA, who sits just outside the playoffs. The Sharks have three games in hand, the Kings and Kraken, both tied at 71 points, have two games in hand.

Edmonton likely retains their playoff spot but that may not get locked up until the final day or two of the season. Connor McDavid has all the pressure of the world on his shoulders.
